Prof. Pierantonio Addis

Pierantonio Addis is an associate Professor in Ecology at the University of Cagliari, Italy. His research is on experimental analyses of processes that cause patterns of distribution and abundance in marine organisms, time-series analysis of univariate and multivariate ecological data, tagging by pop-up satellite tags and PIT tags of marine organisms for migration and behavior studies. He uses predictive models to understand the effects of changes, including those human-induced through resources harvesting, conservation, pollution, and other disturbances. Recent interest includes R&TD of experimental aquaculture of sea urchins and sea cucumbers for restocking purposes and micro-and macroalgae marine cultivation for diets formulation. He has been responsible for the set-up of a pilot hatchery and farming facility at the University of Cagliari for restoking programs of Paracentrotus lividus and Holothuria tubulosa. He is an author of over 60 papers on ISI journals.
