Dr. Martina Orlando-Bonaca
Dr. Orlando-Bonaca works in the Biodiversity Laboratory of the Marine Biology Station Piran (National Institute of Biology of Slovenia). She is involved in the research of benthic flora and fauna, fish assemblage, mapping and assessment of the status of benthic habitat types, ecology of bioconstructors and non-indigenous species. Since 2006, she has also been working on the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) and, since 2008 of the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive (2008/56/ES) into national environmental policy. Her team is also working on the cultivation of Cystoseira s.l. species and the implementation of restoration activities in the northern Adriatic Sea.
