Dr. Karin Almlof, Sweden
Since 2019 Karin has been working with Ulva intestinalis, investigating its potential as a local food product from the Stockholm archipelago and its ability to purify water and grow in a RAS system together with pike-perch. Methods of production, harvesting of wild algae and close work with chefs and panels have been the focus. Karin is an entrepreneur and a Master Mariner, with a specialization in environmental impact from shipping and boat traffic. She is hoping to use and work with algae and seaweed in the Baltic Sea for food and compensation purposes.
